NEWS: ln a new development, Tom has completed a copy of one of the pair of Courtois hand horns, of Ca 1830 that are in the Bate Collection in Oxford. The bell is made with a single seam, giving a super light, responsive instrument. All the crook tubing is drawn down to 0.45mm wall thickness, to make crooks from D to C alto, with a set of three couplers to give Ab, Bb and C basso.
NEWS: Here is a newly completed F/Bb compensating horn, with a piston change valve, ready for its customer in California. This has been a development from the full double and Bb/f alto piston change valve instruments.
NEWS: The Bb/C single horn design continues to get a good reception - we recently delivered one in gold brass to a professional London player. Here he is demonstrating how useful the C valve can be in the Prelude to Bach's cello suite #1: https://youtu.be/Id1ODqYa84s
NEWS: Tom Fisher was at the British Horn Society Festival on the 13th of October 2019 with a prototype horn that embodies a valve innovation that uses 3D printing to do away with the sharp corners in the rotor.
